Season 24 Predictions
by
Chris Berman
Updated: April 10, 2013: 9:00pm EST
Welcome ladies and Gentleman to the
annual MOF Season predictions. This year will be a little different as you can
see, yours truly Chris Berman has been hired by Commissioner Dypko and the MOF
to write up these season predictions. I have gone through each coaches
tendencies, how they would fit with the team they are coaching, and came up with
these predictions. Remember guys, do not take this personal, it is all in good
fun. Besides, when was the last time anyone was right on any prediction? Eh?
Hello again MOF Coaches and fans. What an ending to Season 23 huh? We saw two
rookies in the AFC get to the title game, Coach Gidpent and Coach Hasn2k. Coach
Hasn2k made it from 1-7 to AFC Champion but then lost to eventual Super Bowl
champion Coach Thomas Betts who won his 3rd Super Bowl title here in the MOF, so
congratulations to him! So a few days later and we're already ready for Season
24! In probably the quickest turnaround in MOF history, we're poised and ready
to start the new season! So let's go on with the predictions.
AFC East
Buffalo: William M. (beast10790) - Last Season
(Buffalo 7-9)
Miami: William Vitek (Stormdownburst) - Last Season (Green Bay 4-12)
New England: Coach Dypko - Last Season (Minnesota 7-9)
New York Jets: Alex Leivano (LatinYank77478) - Last Season (N.Y. Jets 12-4)
Last
Season was a memorable one for Coach Latinyank and the Jets. Darrelle Revis
(pictured to the left) set the record for most interceptions in a season with 18
picks. Pretty remarkable, not to mention he also set the record for forced
fumbles in a season with LaRon Landry. Coach Latinyank is coming back for
another season in New York , because of a trade with Stormdownburst that got him
the 8th pick in the draft. We still don't know the terms of the deal , or why
Storm did it, but he did. Joining the Season 23 AFC East winner will be
Stormdownburst with Miami, Coach Dypko with the Patriots, and Coach Beast with
the Bills. Now you look at this division and you immediately say, okay Jets and
Bills are going to runaway with it. Not so fast my friend. You look at each
team's schedule, and the Patriots and Coach Dypko's schedule stands out. He has
hands down the easiest schedule in the MOF, not playing any of the top coaches,
and he can thank Coach Dave Holleman for that last season! Tom Brady will have his
weapons handy with Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez, and Wes Welker. The Pats do not
have the running attack that Coach Dypko is used to, but I still think he will be a very
dangerous team. The Jets are obviously a team to watch out for, as every season
coach Latinyank takes these Jets to new heights. He knows the team inside and out
and I'll be shocked if he doesn't make the playoffs. The Bills got coach Beast back last
season and it was short lived, as Beast did not look like the beast of old as he dropped
a few games which were head scratchers. I think he will turn things back around this season
with a full season at the helm, and with some speedy backs and an underrated defense. The
Dolphins signed Coach Stormdownburst, and after the trade to get Alex the Jets,
I'm sure
fans will not be too happy to see Storm on the sidelines. Coach Storm finished 3-13 and 4-12
the last two seasons in Green Bay so I think the struggling will continue here in Miami.
AFC East Predictions:
Ny Jets: 12-4
New England: 11-5
Buffalo: 10-6
Miami: 5-11
Rewind:
This will be a three team race for the division, but I do not
see anyone dethroning Latinyank's Jets. The Patriots will be a team
to watch out for, solely because of the cupcake schedule, and possible
confidence boosting. The Bills will have a rough start but by mid
season he will get it together, but it might be too late. Miami will be lucky to win 5 games
but those 5 games might determine the division winner!
AFC North
Baltimore: Josh Nelson (krayzie300) - Last Season
(Baltimore 9-7)
Cincinnati: Andre Scott (BigDre245) - Last Season (St. Louis 8-8)
Cleveland: Darryl Beveridge (Oldskoolque) - Last Season (DNP - Rookie)
Pittsburgh: Dave Holleman (baldy_555) - Last
Season (New England 6-10)
Last
season we saw Coach Pauly take this division by storm with the Steelers
finishing with a 13-3 record, and an early exit in the playoffs. This season we
see Coach Krayzie return with the Ravens, and at times last season Coach Krayzie
looked very very good, winning 7 games in a row at one point. Joining Krayzie in
this division will be Coach Bigdre, Coach Baldy_555, and rookie coach
Oldskoolque. You might see a team with losing record win this division
this season! The Ravens are coming back with the strongest team in my opinion,
and one more season for Krayzie to figure them out. Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Torrey
Smith, the offense of the Ravens is becoming their strong point as their defense
gets older. The Bengals are coached by BigDre who took the Rams to an 8-8 record
last season. If anyone can make a surprise playoff run, it will be the Bengals.
With Andy Dalton, and AJ Green at his disposal, Coach Bigdre might be a
darkhorse. The Steelers are coached by Baldy_555 this season, and Coach Baldy's
first two seasons were not too successful. His first full season was last season
with the Patriots, and he finished a disappointing 6-10. Unfortunately, I don't
see much of a change for Coach Baldy, I think he will struggle with an offense
that's not as good as the Patriots, but a defense that is definitely better. I
think the Browns and Coach Oldskool might be the worst team of Season 24. Their
offense is putrid, and their defense isn't too good either. Also he's a rookie,
and we never give rookie's respect, even if Season 23 was the year of the
rookie. I think the Browns will struggle and Coach Oldskool will be looking
forward to Season 25.
AFC North Predictions:
Baltimore: 9-7
Cincinnati: 6-10
Pittsburgh: 4-12
Cleveland: 1-15
Rewind: This division should be
wrapped up by Coach Krayzie pretty early. I think he will win about 9, 10 games
and that will be enough to win this division. I think Cincinnati could be the
dark horse in this division, but I don't believe it yet. With the schedule the
AFC North has, it's going to be tough to win games, so I expect Pittsburgh and
Cleveland to be the two last place teams in the North finishing out a poor
season for the North.
AFC South
Houston: Martin Gonzalez (Bordxx2957) - Last Season
(Arizona 5-11)
Indianapolis: Garry Callis (Gidpent) - Last Season (Kansas City 11-5)
Jacksonville: Hace G. (Hasn2k) - Last Season (Jacksonville 8-8)
Tennessee: Vinny Caturano (Youngcat21) -
Last Season (Chicago 16-0)
The
AFC South on paper is one of the best divisions in the history of the MOF. We
have 3 of the final 4 of Season 23 in this division right here. Of course we
have Coach Hasn2k who was the talk of the town last season with these Jaguars.
Finishing 8-1, miraculously making the playoffs, and then going on a run to the
Super Bowl, one of the most amazing seasons you'll ever see. Then you have the
2-time Champion Coach Vinny Caturano in this division with the Titans, who went
undefeated last season! Only to lose in the NFC Championship to the eventual
Champion. Oh we're not done? Coach Gidpent who took the Chiefs from 1-2 to 11-5
and into the AFC Championship, losing to Hasn2k is coaching the Colts. I almost
feel bad for Coach Bordxx and the Texans, who will also be a tough out. Phew,
it's hard predicting this division because any of the big 3 can win this thing,
but here's the kicker, I think one of those big 3 miss the playoffs because
they're beating up each other so much. The Jaguars easily have the best shot,
only because Hasn2k just finished playing with these guys last season, and
they're fresh in his memory. MJD should have a record breaking year, and we
might see some rushing numbers fall. The Titans of course will be a tough team,
I don't think Vinny will be as dominant as he was with the Bears, but a playoff
team is almost a sure bet. The Colts will be the team in question, even though I
expect the Colts to probably split with the Titans and Jaguars. Andrew Luck and
Cory Fleener are a very dangerous combination. Then you have the Texans and
Coach Bord. Who we saw beat the Skins last season when he subbed in for a
Chargers game. So Bord can play, he just needs a good team. Now he has one! So
how do you predict the toughest division this Season?
AFC South Predictions:
Jacksonville: 13-3
Tennessee: 12-4
Indianapolis: 10-6
Houston: 9-7
Rewind: I'm giving the division
to the Jaguars, I do not think last season was a fluke, and with a full season
he will win a lot of games. The Titans will also be right there, and I will not
be shocked if they leap frog the Jaguars for the division title. The Colts I
predict to be the 3rd place team, he could easily get the 6th seed in the
playoffs, or even win the division. The Texans I also think will be over .500
but I don't think Bord has enough firepower to compete in this division, and not
many people would.
AFC West
Denver: Trev Pappas (trevpapp) - Last Season (Houston
5-11)
Kansas City: Randy Keith (kckeith88) - Last Season (New Orleans 8-8)
Oakland: KA Crosby (TeamKA) - Last Season (Ny Giants 6-10)
San Diego: Ray Yarbrough (footballray) - Last Season (DNP Rookie)
This
division is also a tricky one to figure out. You have Coach Trevpap who has the
best team in the division, the Broncos and Peyton Manning, however he did not do
too well with the Texans last season. Then you have a Chiefs fan coaching the
Chiefs, and we all know that's always a dangerous combination! We have TeamKA
with the Raiders, and the Raiders are ALWAYS a team to watch out for in the MOF,
but TeamKA has been struggling lately. Then we have a rookie in Football Ray who
likes to talk smack, which we always love here in the MOF, but in your inaugural
season, you're usually going to take lumps. I like Denver, and I'll tell you
why. Peyton Manning. I think Trevpapp has enough weapons on offense to give
every team in this division fits, and every coach will have some problems trying
to defend him. The rest of these teams can finish anywhere from 2-4. The Raiders
I think will give the Broncos the most trouble, however, I still don't think he
will be battling for a playoff spot, but anytime you have Darren McFadden you
are 1 play away from scoring. The Chiefs are a tricky team to predict, because
KCKeith is coaching them, he lost a game last season to the 0-14 Falcons, and
did not play well with a much better Saints team. I expect him to win 5 or 6
games. The San Diego Chargers and Rookie Coach Footballray will have a tough
time, no offense rook, but the Chargers aren't the best team in the game, even
though you have a top tight end, I see them struggling.
AFC West Predictions:
Denver: 11-5
Oakland: 6-10
Kansas City: 5-11
San Diego: 3-13
Rewind:
This division reminds me of the AFC North alot. The AFC
is heavy in the East and South, and I think the North
and West will struggle. The Broncos are the clear cut
favorite in my book and I think this is the season
Trevpapp breaks out and wins 10+ games. If there were to
be a shocker in this division it will be the Chiefs.
Because reasons i mentioned before, he's a coach that is
playing with his favorite team. Nuff said. The Raiders
are speedy and will win a couple based on that alone,
but not enough to compete and the Chargers will lump it
up.
NFC
East
Dallas: Quincy Peterson (qkpeezy35) - Last Season
(Carolina 12-4)
New York Giants: Scott Kurtz (kurtzy222) - Last Season (DNP Rookie)
Philadelphia: Brett Williamson (UCCBrett) - Last Season (Denver 14-2)
Washington: Thomas Betts (NYRedskins35) - Last Season (Washington (12-4)
The
NFC East is STACKED, just like the AFC South. The NFC East has again, the 3-time
Champion Coach Betts returning with his team the Washington Redskins, and that
immediately makes him the favorite in the division. The Dallas Cowboys are back
with Coach Qpeezy! The last time we saw Peezy with the Cowboys, he was beating
Youngcat and Betts in the same season! The Eagles are coached by UCCBrett who
took the Broncos to a 14-2 record last season!! Then don't forget the Giants who
have signed Coach Kurtzy, who we have heard nothing but great things about! The
Redskins are the team to beat, RG3, Garcon, year in and year out Coach Betts has
his QB and WR in the MVP voting, and lets not forget that stout defense. The
Redskins will be primed to repeat. The Dallas Cowboys will be a thorn in Betts'
side, because i'm sure he will see him not twice, but three times this season.
Peezy had a wonderful season in Carolina last season, and he looks to have a
great season with Dallas once again. The Eagles have a lot of speed, McCoy,
Jackson, Vick, they're going to be very tough to deal with. I think their
defense needs some work, as well as their special teams, but the Eagles with
Coach Brett will be a very good team. It's hard to predict the Giants to have a
good season in this division, but I think the new rookie will be good, not
great, but good, probably about .500 or so.
NFC East Predictions:
Washington: 14-2
Dallas: 12-4
Philadelphia: 11-5
Ny Giants: 8-8
Rewind:
The division is Washington's to lose. Coach Betts is always the top
coach in the NFC East, and this season will be no
different. I expect Betts to win a lot of games, and to
win the East. The Cowboys will be the Redskins biggest
competitor. Since Peezy knows how to beat Betts, this
should be a fun season to watch. I expect Dallas to be
in the playoffs either way. The Eagles are going to be a
team to watch as well, we know Brett can win games, and
with this offense he might put up some serious numbers,
I expect the Eagles to also be in playoff contention.
The Giants have a good team but not good enough to
compete with the talented coaches in this division.
NFC
North
Chicago: Kyle Kimble (Duckfat95) - Last Season (Dallas
5-11)
Detroit: Pauly Mendes (Pauly2110) - Last Season (Pittsburgh 13-3)
Green Bay: Marcel McLaurin (Hovadagod_23) - Last Season (Cincinnati 3-13)
Minnesota: Brandon Weakland (MMXCalibur) - Last Season (San Francisco 11-5)
The
NFC North is playing the AFC South and NFC East this season, yikes. They could
not have had a harder draw than that. So I expect a team with a close to .500
record to win this division. The Lions are coached by Pauly Mendes who took the
Steelers to a 13-3 record last season, very impressive, but was knocked out of
the playoffs in the divisional round, so he looks to bounce back from that. The
Vikings are coached by MMXCalibur who took the 49ers to the playoffs last season
with an 11-5 record. Now he has Adrian Peterson and could be very very dangerous
with them. The Packers are coached by Hovadagod_23 who took the Bengals to a
3-13 record last season, and he really wants to rebound from that poor outing,
and the Bears who are coached by Duckfat95 took Dallas to a disappointing 5-11
record last season. Yes the Bears will not be coached by Youngcat this season! I
like the Lions in this division because Pauly knows how to win, not saying MMX
does not, but in their head to head meetings I expect Pauly to come out
throwing, and I know first hand that the Vikings cannot cover Calvin Johnson.
The division basically will come down to those two games, Vikings and Lions. I
expect the Vikings to also have a good year, but not good enough, Adrian
Peterson might challenge MJD for the rushing record, and thats a story in
itself. The Packers and Bears I expect to take a step back with the brutal
schedule, and then having two playoff teams from last season also in their
division, it's going to be a hard time for them to get wins. I would be shocked
if they won more than 6 games.
NFC North Predictions:
Detroit: 9-7
Minnesota: 9-7
Chicago: 4-12
Green Bay: 4-12
Rewind:
Like i said, it's going to come down to the games
between Pauly and MMX for this division because outside
of the division these guys have the hardest schedule
known to man. Playing Hasn2k, Youngcat, Gidpent, Betts,
Peezy, and Uccbrett. WOW. The Bears and Packers will be
in the basement of this division, no doubt about it.
NFC
South
Atlanta: Chris Cheefer (CheeferD) - Last Season
(Indianapolis 7-9)
Carolina: Rey Viscaino (Jdidd) - Last Season (Cleveland 4-12)
New Orleans: Ron Clark (IGotASxyWife) - Last Season (Detroit 10-6)
Tampa Bay: Jason Fontaine (JFon) - Last Season (Tampa Bay 9-7)
You
look at this division and you immediately say to yourself, oh Saints and Bucs
for sure. NOT so fast my friends. This division is going to be a three team
race, and I think it could be one of the better races we see all season! First
off, Coach Jdidd and the Panthers will have a rough go at it, I don't expect him
to win more than 3 or 4 games, no offense, but he's been out of the game for a
while, and did not fair too well with the Browns last season. I think Cam Newton
will be too much of a temptation to take off and run with, and his offense will
suffer because of it. Now to the teams that will be battling for this division.
The Falcons and CheeferD will be one of my breakout stars this season. I think
he looked great at points with the Colts last season, to the point where he was
on a 7-2 run. I think the Falcons defense is much better than the Colts defense,
and I expect Cheefer to turn some heads this season. The Saints will be a team
to contend with as well. The Saints are like a better Lions team, and Coach Ron
went 10-6 last season with the Lions. The Saints have more weapons, a better QB,
and much better running game. Sproles will have himself a great season, and I
wouldn't be surprised to see the Saints win this division either. Last but not
least is annual Coach of the Bucs, Jfon. Last season the Bucs fell in the 2nd
half of the season to a 9-7 record, after starting off so hot. I expect sort of
the same thing this season. JFon doesn't have the best record against the upper
echelon of the league. I do expect Jfon to finish with about 9 or 10 wins but
short of a playoff berth.
NFC South Predictions:
Atlanta: 11-5
New Orleans: 10-6
Tampa Bay: 10-6
Carolina: 3-13
Rewind:
Falcons, Bucs and Saints will all be very close to each
other in the standings when the season ends. The games between each other will
be extremely important for the tie breaking procedures. Like i said above, I
think Cheefer is one of the breakout coaches this season and wins the NFC South.
Also, I think the other two teams who do not win the division will have a chance
at the wild card, but will have to battle Dallas and Philadelphia for those
spots, which will be very tough. Carolina unfortunately, will have a tough go at
it, but we're pulling for ya Jdidd.
NFC
West
Arizona: Dan Holleman (Trigrdan) - Last Season
(Oakland 12-4)
St. Louis: Ron Scott (RawNeezy) - Last Season (DNP Rookie)
San Francisco: Philip Heiner (DarthBlunt) - Last Season (Atlanta 1-15)
Seattle: Damon Clark (Dpanther95) - Last
Season (Seattle 4-12)
The
NFC West could be one of the weakest links of the MOF this season. Lately we've
been seeing the 49ers dominate this division season in and season out, but we
might see a change of the guards. This season the 49ers are coached by
DarthBlunt who went an extremely disappointing 1-15 with a very good Falcons
team last season, in fact his first win of the season came in the last few days.
It's almost impossible to not win 8 games with the 49ers though, and in this
division, so I expect Darthblunt to be in the running for the division all
season long. The Cardinals are coached by Trigrdan who went 12-4 with the
Raiders last season, and had a very good season with the Colts in Season 22. So
his success will really be tested this season with the Arizona Challenge on
deck! There's really not much to be said about these guys, they're weak at every
position except maybe WR and CB. I do think Arizona will be right there in the
end though, and we could see Arizona's 2nd ever playoff berth at season's end.
The Seahawks are back with Coach Dpanther, who looked pretty good through about
4 or 5 games last season, then it all went downhill. The Seahawks finished 4-12
last season under Coach Dpanther and it was very sad to see him lose with
another team so we're hoping he can turn things around this time, but more than
likely it won't happen. The Rams are coached by rookie Rawneezy, who has one of
the better names in the league, but unfortunately for him, he has one of the
worst teams in the game. He will find it frustrating when he's losing to the
Cardinals.
NFC West Predictions:
Arizona: 9-7
San Francisco: 8-8
Seattle: 4-12
St. Louis: 3-13
Rewind: Looks like the Cardinals and Coach Trigrdan are my
favorite to win this division, it was hard predicting them to win this, but I
really don't see anyone giving him too much trouble. The 49ers might be a dark
horse in this division, if Darth can turn things around and win some games he
might give trigrdan a run for his money. The Seahawks are also another team that
I could be completely wrong with. Dpanther is usually always good in a 2nd or
3rd season of a game, and he could maybe turn it around. The Rams are a rookie
coach and we know how i feel about them.
