Raiders Routed by Chargers 36–3 as QB Questions Intensify

LOS ANGELES — The Las Vegas Raiders’ struggles continued Sunday as they were dominated by the Los Angeles Chargers, falling 36–3 at SoFi Stadium.

For the Raiders, the biggest concern once again came from the quarterback position. Fernando Mendoza struggled to find any rhythm throughout the game and threw four interceptions, adding another difficult performance to what has become a frustrating stretch for the young quarterback.

With Mendoza continuing to struggle, the pressure is mounting for Coach Big Country to make a change under center. Around the Raiders, it is increasingly looking like Kirk Cousins could be the next man up, with the veteran quarterback potentially taking the starting snaps going forward.

The offense never found its footing against the Chargers, and the lopsided score only increased the questions surrounding whether Mendoza can continue to lead the Raiders.

Defense Shows Fight

Despite the disappointing result, the Raiders’ defense provided some bright spots.

Eric Stokes had an impressive outing, intercepting Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert twice. Nakobe Dean also led the Raiders with five tackles, while Maxx Crosby added four tackles of his own.

Unfortunately for Las Vegas, the defense couldn't overcome the struggles on the offensive side of the football as the Chargers pulled away and cruised to a 36–3 victory.

Pressure Mounts on Big Country

The loss puts even more pressure on first-year Raiders head coach Big Country, who is still searching for his first win.

The Raiders now have to regroup quickly, because there won't be much time to dwell on the loss. Their next challenge comes on the road against the New Orleans Saints.

For Big Country, the message is simple: something has to change.

Whether that change comes at quarterback with Cousins taking over, or through adjustments across the entire offense, the Raiders need answers — and they need them quickly.
