COWBOYS HEAD TO NEW YORK FOR A WEEK 1 SHOWDOWN WITH GIANTS

Coach TSG spent the offseason building the Cowboys roster he wanted.

Now he gets to see what it can do.

Dallas travels to New York tonight for an NFC East Week 1 matchup against Coach Shawtypizzle and the Giants, opening a season in which expectations surrounding the Cowboys have changed considerably over the last few weeks.

TSG wasn't content to simply take the roster he was handed into opening night.

Dallas attacked the trade market, added talent and depth at multiple positions, and enters Week 1 looking considerably different from the team that began the preseason.

Now comes the first test.

And it isn't an easy one.

Shawtypizzle brings a talented Giants roster into the matchup featuring Jaxson Dart at quarterback, Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields at receiver, and Cam Skattebo in the backfield.

TSG knows exactly what Dallas is walking into.

“They've got a talented quarterback with Jaxson Dart. They've got good receivers that can get open and make plays. I think all around they've got a really, really good football team.”

But Dallas didn't spend the offseason standing still, either.

Perhaps the biggest story surrounding Dallas entering Week 1 is simply how much has changed.

The Cowboys have been aggressive.

Chase Young is now a Cowboy, giving Dallas another established presence along its defensive front which already consists of Kenny Clark, Quinnen Williams and Rashan Gary.

Kendre Miller arrived in the same deal, adding another option to the Dallas backfield.

Dallas also landed young corner Azareye'h Thomas, providing another piece to a secondary already containing DaRon Bland.

Then came one of the more fascinating moves of the preseason: Shedeur Sanders to Dallas.

The Cowboys sent a 2028 second-round pick to Cleveland to acquire Sanders, bringing the son of Cowboys legend Deion Sanders to Dallas and giving TSG another young quarterback to develop behind Dak Prescott. And just before Week 1, Dallas continued adding pieces by signing tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders.

There has been a clear theme.TSG wants options, he wants depth, And he wants competition. 

But despite all the additions, TSG isn't asking his offense to immediately become a highlight reel.

He's asking it to become dependable: “Consistency. I wanna see us executing on every play, every down.” 

Asked for his final message to Cowboys fans before the season begins, TSG offered three words that might as well become the headline for the entire Dallas season.

“Saddle up and be ready. Don't blink.”

Because TSG believes the Cowboys aren't merely showing up for the new MOF edition.

“This team that we have is gonna be a competitor.”

Tonight in New York, they get their first opportunity to prove it.
